WHY YOUHOOD?

artistic intervention focusing mainly on the different facets of
work established by the Amazigh woman and in her leading role in the
conservation of its culture, showing, in turn, the importance of Art in
the process of urban regeneration of a neighbourhood."

"The project presented to the European Community was an Erasmus + city,

a type of project focused on young people and in this case young artists
urban that are chosen by the partners of this Erasmus + city program.
Our proposal was framed within the regeneration program
from a neighbourhood called El Rastro, which Melilla City Council indicated
as a priority objective."

Proposal

"Our proposal was aimed at young artists from other countries with the
aim to get to know our North African culture and interact with
local artists, and all together:
- Interpret and capture the symbols of our culture in our streets.
- Recreate public spaces that manage to interrelate the neighbourhood.
- Perform strategies and actions aimed at linking the
Citizens with the artists.
- Perform specific actions aimed at highlighting the values ​​of the
interculturality."

Objectives

Our objectives were:
-Get to know our artists and access to meet other artists
countries.
-Take Art to the street to interact with neighbours and arouse interest
inside different population bands.
-Promote interculturality through art.
-Promote and strengthen the identity of the neighbourhood through activities
joint with the neighbours.
-Get greater citizen participation around art.
- Combat Islamophobia, Judeophobia and other types of discrimination against
through participatory actions.

Group Variety

 

To this end, the cultural and social reality of the city of
Melilla, focusing primarily on the neighbourhood that was the origin of the
The multiculturalism of this city, El Rastro.
The learning method was online and at all times there was a
fluid communication between participants.
The topics covered in this online teaching process were identity
of different cultures, their symbols and their signs, their aesthetics and their
philosophy of life, emphasizing the leading role played
for the Amazigh woman.
The different objectives proposed have been achieved through the
artists' interaction with young people in the neighbourhood, as well as with other

people who are at risk of social exclusion, carrying out
a joint and participatory work.
